Editorial Standards & Disclosures

What a verdict means
Every Stress Test ends with a verdict: Buy, Hold or Pass, sometimes blended, like "Hold, leaning Buy." A verdict is a judgment about a specific robotics claim from the point of view of an operations or capital-projects buyer: would we put money and floor space behind this on a real project, given what has actually been demonstrated?
Verdicts are not investment recommendations. "Buy" does not mean buy a company's stock, and "Pass" does not mean sell it. Several companies covered here are publicly traded, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security.
What a Scorecard status means
The Scorecard tracks claims over time. Online, Standby and Offline grade whether the underlying category of solution is real, useful and showing up in actual deployments. They don't grade whether one vendor's specific figures turned out to be exact. Every claim has a revisit date, and status changes are added to its history, never overwritten.
Not professional advice
Everything here is general commentary and analysis for informational purposes. It is not investment, financial, legal, engineering or safety advice. Before you buy, deploy or certify any robotic system, do your own due diligence and rely on qualified professionals, the manufacturer's documentation and the safety standards that apply to your site.
How claims are sourced
- Facts come from public sources, and they're linked so you can check them.
- Statistics a company reports about its own product are labeled as vendor-reported.
- Announcements that come from a press-release wire service are named as such, because a wire release is the company's own words with no editorial selection applied.
- Reported ties to defense or military work are noted when they come up.
- Verdicts and deployment-reality takes are opinion: our judgment, based on the sourced facts around them.
Independence
No company pays for coverage, and no company sees a story before it's published. The author holds no stock in any company covered here. If that ever changes, the holding will be disclosed in the issue or guide that covers the company. The same goes for sponsorships or affiliate links: if they're ever added, they will be disclosed clearly on the page where they apply, not just here.
The author works in the robotics industry. The views published here are the author's own and don't represent the views of any current or former employer, client or business partner. Nothing on this site draws on employer, client or other non-public information. Everything comes from public sources and general professional judgment.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to know. Corrections are made on the page itself, with a dated note saying what changed. Substantive changes to a verdict or a Scorecard status are recorded in that claim's history, so the original call stays visible. Send corrections to [email protected].
